Waggy Walks

Throughout the year, we run guided waggy walks across East Devon, Teignbridge and Exeter.

We team up with one of our dog-friendly partners to offer free walks to learn about the wildlife in the area. It’s a chance to socialise your dog and meet new people.

Timings

Walks usually start at 10am, although occasionally we walk at other times. Walks usually last between an hour and an hour and a half, depending on the route, conditions and speed of the group.

On or off lead?

We walk in a range of locations, but we always choose sites where dogs are welcome and ideally can have some off lead fun. We always ask for dogs to be on lead at the start of each walk and there are often times when leads will be required, but we are on hand to explain as we go along. Each dog is different, so we will explain the site requirements so that owners can act accordingly.

Getting lost!

When you book a waggy walk we’ll send you joining instructions and directions for finding the meeting point. We always have a walk leader at the front and someone at the back of the group so no one gets lost. We’ll also have plenty of stops along the way to make sure the group stays together and everyone is happy.

Who can join?

All dogs and their owners are welcome to join a Waggy Walk. You know your dog best, if you think they’d enjoy sharing a walk then we’d love to meet you. For new dogs, we suggest staying on lead at the back of the group initially, to let your dog settle in. If you have any specific questions do get in touch woof@devonlovesdogs.co.uk.

Bookings

Walks are free but please book your place so we know you’re coming and we can monitor numbers. There’s a limit of 2 dogs per person, but we know that lots of people share a dog too.

Accessibility

Most of our walks are in open countryside with uneven ground and unfortunately are not usually suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Families are very welcome to join us. We usually walk between 3-5km so if children are happy to come along, we’d love to see you. If you have any specific questions, do get in touch woof@devonlovesdogs.co.uk

Cancellations

Most of our walks get fully booked. If you are no longer able to join us, please cancel your place so that we can offer it to someone else. This also ensures the dogs aren’t kept waiting at the start of a walk.
